ABSTRACT:

Coordination compounds formed by the inteiaction of Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Pd(ll) with neutral tridentate ligand-semicarbazone of 2-aminonicotinaldehyde (SCANA) have been prepared. Stoichiometrics of the complexes have been established by metal estimations gravimetrically. The complexes isolated in the solid state have been characterized by molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, thermal, electronic, infrared and ESR spectral measurements. Tentative stereochemistries of the complexes in the solid state are discussed.
