ABSTRACT:

Significant removal of dissolved and suspended solids ocurred through stabilization, microbial transformation and biochemical interactions involving pH, DO, BOD, nutrient recycling and uptake by bacterial, plankton , plankton and fish biomass in oxidation ponds of different nature. It is concluded that organic and inorganic constituents of solids can be removed from oxidation ponds by biomanipulation.
