ABSTRACT:

The effect of concentration of three azo pyrazolone dyestuffs on the half-wave potentials and diffusion currents of UO22+, Cr3+,, Fe3+, and Th4+ were studied in universal buffer solutions at different pH in 50% dioxane. The polarograms show that, the reduction waves exhibit shifts towards more negative potentials and changes in id which are due to complex formation. The coordination number is approximate equal to 1 or 2. The study reveals also the possibility of quantitative determination of these metals through their chelation with the considered dyes. As attempt was made to evaluate the chelation stability constants of the metal - dye complex.
