ABSTRACT:

Data obtained for dissolved (<0.45 μ m) and particulated Ti. La and Li were taken from the analysis of water samples collected from 24 sampling sites in the Mediterranean waters of the Egyptian coast between Ei-Agami (long. 29° 45 E) and El-Arish (33° 40 E) during April and August 1982. The results obtained showed some considerable local variations in the concentrations of the studied metals. The highest values of Ti and La were recorded at the near-shore eastern aide and Lake-Sea connections. Li showed no distinct distribution. The range of dissolved metals varied between ND-O.013, ND-O.034 and 0.021-0.372 μ g/i for Li, La and Ti respectively in April, and from ND, ND-0.024 and 0.009-0.047 μ g/1 respectively in August. The values ef paniujlated metals ranged from 4.940-67.40, 0.004-0.170 and 0.009 -14.020 μ g 1 for IX La ead Ti respectively in April, 4.128-43.82, 0 005-1/233 and 0.099-113.20 μ g/1 for the same metals respectively in August. The average values of the parnculated studied metals showed shght variations during April and August. Significant correlation* between some metals were recorded. The obtained results showed that the particulated forms are the most domineat specks.
