Spectrophotometry Determination of Fe (III) With Hydroxytriazenes

ABSTRACT:

3-Hydroxy-3-isopropyl-l-phenyltriazene and five hydroxytriazenes : p-tolyl; p-hloro; p-bromo; p-methoxy and m-acetyl substituted compounds have been used as spectrophotometric reagents for the determination of Fe (III). Wave length of maximum absorption in each case was determined. Formula of the Fe (III) complex has been established as FeR3 with all six reagents. Stability constants and free energy of formation were calculated. Sandell's sensitivities have been determined and the results were compared with the reagents reported by other workers.
