ABSTRACT:

Aryl amines like 4-nitraniline was condensed with 2-amino-3,-dibromo benzaladehyde to get the corresponding Schiff base2. This was reacted with aryloxy acid chlorides to get the required new azetidin-2-one derivatives (3a1-a18). The compounds have been evaluated for antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities. Their structures have been elucidated on the basis of elemental analysis and spectral data.

KEYWORDS:

Schiff base; aryloxy acid chlorides; azetidinones; antibacterial; antifungal; anti-inflammatory; analgesic activities
