ABSTRACT:

A series of carboxamides of 2'-amino-4'-(6-chloro-3-coumarinyl) thiazole were synthesized, purified and characterized on the basis of spectral data such as IR, 1H-NMR and mass spectral (MS) studies and were evaluated for their analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity by acetic acid induced abdominal constriction method and carrageenan induced rat hind paw oedema method respectively. Out of the compounds tested, few test compounds showed significant analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity.
