Geochemical Study of Fluoride in Ground Water of Sanganer Tehsil of Jaipur District of Rajasthan

ABSTRACT:

The paper represents the significance and extent of fluoride in ground water of Sanganer Tehsil of Jaipur district. The ground water samples of 30 villages of this tehsil were collected. Analysis report shows that 75% of villages contains more than 3 ppm of fluoride. A survey of 30 villages were done and discussion with villagers were also done. 75% of villagers were suffering with dental fluorosis, skeletal fluorosis and gut fluorosis. The fluoride concentration varies from 1.8 ppm to 17 ppm in this tehsil. Author has suggested villagers to use alum and lime to avoid all type of fluorosis. The problem of fluoride is so severe that younger generation is going to be impotent.
