Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Some New Thiazole Derivatives

ABSTRACT:

A series of new 2-arylthioureidoamino-4m (r-chlorobenzenesulphonamide)-phenyl-thiazoles (3a-m) have been synthesized by condensation of 2-amino-4-m (r-chlorobenzenesulphonamide)-phenylthiazole (2) with arylisothiocyanates. The physical and spectral data of the synthesised compounds are determined. The synthesised compounds have been screened for their in vitro antimicrobial activity against various strains of bacteria and fungi.
