ABSTRACT:

2-(o-Chlorophenylaminosulpho)-4-anisidine 1 has been condensed with different azlactones to yield 5-oxo-imidazolines 2a-k in good yield. All the compounds have been evaluated in vitro for their antibacterial activity against Gram positive. Gram negative bacterial strains, fungi and antitubercular activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37 Rv. The constitution of these products have been outlined by elemental analyses, IR, NMR spectral study and further supported by mass spectrometry.
