ABSTRACT:

Zine Sulphide thin films are deposited onto glass substrates by chemical bath deposition technique (CBD). Thin films of Copper Phthalocyanine (CuPc) are sublimed onto glass substrates in high vacuum at room temperature by thermal evaporation technique. Multi layer ZnS-CuPc thin films are obtained from ZnS films grown on glass substrates by CBD technique and subsequently vacuum subliming CuPc onto ZnS films. These films are annealed at different temperatures. Optical properties of ZnS, CuPc and multi layer ZnS-CuPc thin films are studied in a UV-VIS- Spectro photometer and the absorbance recorded as a function of photon energy. The optical energy band gap and maximum absorption coefficient of the as deposited and annealed sampled samples are determined.
