ABSTRACT:

Poly (hydroxarmic acid) resin was evaluated and found suitable to be used to separate gold, Iron and copper ion in dilute nitric acid solution. The method was used to separate gold from iron and copper in sediment before analyses with atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results of gold contents to sediment samples using this technique were in agreement when compared with the results from Neutron Activation Analyses with a correlation coefficient r=0.99
