ABSTRACT:

Some new 1-(phenyl and substituted phenyl)-2-phenyl-4-(3',4',5'-trisubstituted benzylidene)-5-imidazolones are prepared by refluxing the mixture of 5-oxazolone derivatives with aromatic and substituted aromatic amines in pyridine. The synthesized compounds are tested against S. aureus, E coli, Pseudomonas aerogenes and S. typhi. The compounds are characterized on the basis of elemental analysis and spectral studies.
