ABSTRACT:

Metal chelates of Bis(4-lminomethylene-3-phenyl hydrazone-penta-none-2) with Mn(ll), Co(ll), Ni(ll), Cu(ll), Zn(ll), and Cd(ll), have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, infrared, electronic and mass spectral studies in conjunction with conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements. IR spectral studies showed tetradentate chelating nature of the ligand coordinating through hydrazone nitrogens and imine nitrogens with metal ions.
