ABSTRACT:

Ultrasonic velocity of diphenyltin dichloride in acetone was measured, at 30,35 and 40°C, using a single-crystal interferometer at a frequency of 1 MHz. The adiabatic compressibility, intermolecular free length, molar sound velocity, molar volume, apparent molar compressibility, specific acoustic impedence and solvation number have been calculated by the use of ultrasonic velocity, density and concentration. The results indicate a significant solute-solvent interaction in Ph2SnCI2-acetone system.
