ABSTRACT:

Various disazo condensation pigments have been synthesized by the condensation of azo carboxylic acid with various benzidine derivatives. Infrared and visible spectra and bleeding test of the dyes were investigated and their dyeing performance on nylon, polyester and cellulose triacetate fibres have been assessed. The percentage dyebath exhaustion on different fibres has been found moderate to good. The dyed fibres show good to very good fastness to light and very good to excellent fastness to washing, rubbing, perspiration and sublimation.
