ABSTRACT:

1.3 - Thiazine derivatives have been prepared in 60-80% yield by the reaction of various chalcones containing naphthalene moeity with thiourea or diphenyl thiourea in alkaline medium for 3-4 hrs. The same reaction in DMSO-sodium methoxide system was found to be fast and give better yield. These compounds were screened for antifungal and antibacterial activities to various test organisms.
