ABSTRACT:

Several new metal complexes of the first row of transition metal cations such as Cr(III), Fe (III), Co(ll).Ni(II) andCu(ll) with 2-(2'pyridyl)-1,1,3,3-tetramethylguanidine ,2-(5'-methyl-2'-pyridyl)-1,1,3,3, tetramethylguanidine and 2-(5'bromo-2'-pyridyl)-1,1,3,3-tetramethylguanidine have been sysnthesised and characterised by spectroscopic methods. Based on spectrospic properties, mainly UV, IR and MS, these metal cation with 2-(2'-pyridyl)-1,1,3,3,- tetramethyl guanidine as a ligand from the complex by the ratio of ligand to metal: Cr (III) (1:1) , Fe (III) (1:1 and 2:1), Co (II) (1:1 and 2:1), Ni (II) (1:1 and Cu (II) (1:1 and 2:1) with the ligand 2-(5'_ methyl 2'-pyridyl)-1,1,3,3-tetramethylguandine Cr(III) (1:1) , Fe (III) (1:1 and 2:1), Co(II) (1:1), Ni(II) (1:1) and Cu (II) (1:1) and the composition of ligand 2-(5'-bromo-2'-pyridyl)-1,1,3,3-tetamethylguanidine complexes with these cations were: Cr (III) (1:1), Fe (III) (1:1 and 2:1), Co (II) (1:1), Ni (II) (1:1) and Cu (1:1).
