ABSTRACT:

Proton-ligand stability constants of some heterocyclic ligands have been studied in ethanol-water medium (3:1, v/v) at μ~0.1 (NaCIO4) and at four different temperatures (± 0.1). Bjerrum - Calvin pH titration technique has been used. The results have been discussed on the basis of electromeric effect of substituents. The proton-ligand stability constants for closely related substituted heterocyclic ligands are found to vary in the following order in terms of their substituents.
