Synthesis of Some New Ring 'A' Substituted Vasicine Analogues

ABSTRACT:

Ten analogues of vasicine or 1,2,3,9-tetrahydropyrrolo (2,1-b) quinazoline-3-01(IV); 4-methoxy-(V);5- methoxy(VI)-; 6-methoxy-(VII)-; 4.6-dimethoxy-(VlII)-; 4,5,6,4trimethoxy-(IX)-; 4,5-methylenedioxy-(X)-; 5-hydroxy-4-methoxy(XI)-;6-hydroxy-5-methoxy-(XII)-;4-hydroxy-5-methoxy-(XIII) and 4,6-dibromo- (XIV)-vascines have been synthesised employing schopf-oechler scheme. The structures of the compounds have been established on the basis of spectral data. They have been screened for their pharmacological activities also.
