An efficient synthesis of steroidal indole in one operation by rection of steroidal ketones with phenylhydrazine in acetic acid, using BF3-etherate as catalyst. Compounds obtained are purified by column chromatography and their structure supported by IR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR and MS spectral studies.
