ABSTRACT:

Sea anemone toxins have large cluster of polar amino acids in alpha helical region. Among these 47 residues are non-polar and 21 are polar. From the database it has been noted that more structural integrity is present in alpha helical region due to the presence of leu, leu, ala, cyst, ala, leu. The majority of polar conserved residues are located in calcium binding domain of different anemone toxins. Two highly conserved residues glu and hist is a prime characteristic feature of anemone toxins which also have CKCD amino acids where K is replaced by L.
