ABSTRACT:

A of mixed ligand complexes of alkaline earth metal salts of different organic acids like o-nitrophenol, 2,4-dinitrophenol, 1-nitroso-2-naphthol, o-nitrobenzoic acid 8-hydroxyquinoline with isonitroso-p-methylacetophenone having the general formula ML2HL', where M=Mg, Ca, Sr or Ba, L=deprotonated ONP, DNP, 1N2N, Sa1H, dHQ or ONBA and HL'= isonitroso-p-methylacetophenone (1NPMAP) have been synthesised and characterised by elemental analysis, IR and electronic spectral data. Their IR spectral data indicate the presence of hydrogen bonding in them.
