ABSTRACT:

Three new 1-[2,4-dihydro-4-benzyl-3-(pyridoyl)-3H-1,2,4-triazol-5-ylthioacetyl]-4-benzyl thiosemicarbazides 4(a-c) was prepared by reaction of 1-[2,4-dihydro-4-benzyl-5-(pyridyl)-3H-1,2,4-triazol-3ylthio] acetic acid hydrazides 3(a-c) and benzyl isothiocyanate. The thiosemicarbazides 4(a-c) were convered into related 1,2,4-triazoles by intramolecular dehydrative cyclization in presence of base. The structures of these compounds were confirmed by their IR, 1 H-NMR, MS and elemental analysis.
