Synthesis of New Aurone as Antibacterial Antifungal and Anti HIV Agents

ABSTRACT:

2-Hydroxy substituted chalcone (I a-o was taken in DMSO and mercuric acetate was added to it . The reaction mixture was refluxed for 2-3 hours and then diluted with water. The soild separated was crystallised from rectified spirit to give Aurone (II a-o). The structure of the compound have been supported by spectral data, US-VIS, IR PMR spectroscopy. Synthesised compound are tested for antibacterial, antifungicidal and some of them are tested for anti aids (HIV-i) activity.
