ABSTRACT:2 - Amino-5-methyl-4-phenyl thiazole condensed with heterocyclic ketone/B diketone to form Schiff bases. These schiff bases from complexes of type ML2 (M=Ni, Co, Cu or Mn). Elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibilty, electrical conductance, electronic and infrared spectral data suggest octahedral structure of the complexes. All these compounds were tested for theie antibacterial activity. The result indicate that the growth of the tested organism was inhibited by most of the compounds.
KEYWORDS:heterocyclic; phenyl; antibacterial octahedral
