Status of Gaseous Pollutants in Ambient Air at Selected Sites of Mandideep (Industrial Township) in Vicinity of Bhopal

ABSTRACT:

An attempt has been made to assess the concentration of gaseous pollutants In ambient air at Mandideep township. The main gaseous pollutants namely sulphur dioxide and oxides of nitrogen were studied and samples at tour strategic and pollution prone areas covering Residential (Patel Nagar), Commercial (Durga Chowk), Industrial (New Industrial Area) and Sensitive (Satlapur).The data reveals that concentration of sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide were Ngher at commercial site in shift 'A' and 'B' as compared to other rites of this area which is main commercial centre of Mandideep and situated near the dense traffic highway.
