ABSTRACT:

A series of cyanine dyes has been synthesised by the reaction of 4-NN-bis-2-cyanoethylaminobenzaldehyde and with a number of meth and eth iodides of heterocyclic bases. New cyanine dyes have been tested for their photosensitizing action. Only one dye was found to be fairly good sensitizer.
