Synthesis and Biological Activities of Certain 1-(1,3,5-Triazino)-3-Substituted Thiocarbamides

The present communication describes the interaction of cyanoguanidine with acetic anhydride and formic acid to synthesise s-triazines4(I). These s-triazines were reacted with substituted isothiocyanates5(ll) in acetone medium to obtain 1 -(1,3,5-triazino)-3-substituted thiocarbamides (III). The antimicrobial actvites of these thiocarbamides were studied by using well diffusion assay method6.
