ABSTRACT:

1 -Ethoxyethyl (EOE) ethers of alcohols,phenols and carboxylie acids are easily prepared by treatment of the hydroxyl group compounds with ethoxyethene In the presence of py ridinium-p-toluene sulfonate (PPTS) at room temperature in a good yields,except substrates containing an intramolecularly bonded hydroxyl group gave 55-76% .not optimised.of EOE ethers.
