Chemical Constituents of the Leaves of Zanthoxylum Acanthopodium and its Biological Activity

ABSTRACT:

Studies on the petroleum ether extract on the leaves of Zanthoxylum acanthopodium have produced lignan, sesamin as the major product, an unidentified long chain alkane and fatty acids mixture. The structure of the compounds were elucidated by means of spectroscopic methods. The toxicity test of plant extract towards the fish, Lebistes reticulates was also carried out.
