Abstract
Variation of Total Soluble Carbohydrates in the Haemolymph, Fat Body and Silk Gland of Philosamia Ricini During Development
Balagopalan Unni
Abstract:
The total carbohydrate content in the whole body of Philosamia ricini and their distribution pattern in different organs (fat body, haemolymph and silk gland) has been studied. The carbohydrate concentration was low during larval stages increased greatly in pupal stages. The variation pattern in other tissues was quite different. A significant increase in the concentration of carbohydrate was noticed in haemolymph and silk gland and the decreased during the first day of spinning.
