Abstract:
Complex equilibria of 5.5 dimethylcyclohexane-2-(2-hydroxy-phenyl) hydrazono 1,3 dotone (DCPHD) with proton Ni (II) , SM (II) and Yb (III) ion has been measured in various mixed aqueous dioxen solvent viz. 30%, 40%, 50%, 60% and 75% (v/v) dioxen water at 300 C, using pH titremetry. The varration of pKH 1, pKH 2 and log H1 with the inverse of dielectric constant or mole fraction of solvent was studied. The relation between log K 1 for DCPHD-Ln (III) complexes and ioconic potentials (Z2/r) using 50% (v/v) dioxen water was discussed on the basis of the change in solvation properties of the cations. Comparision for log K1 of DCPHD -Ln (III) and dimedon-Ln (III) complexes under similar experimental conditons, reflects the differences in basicity and dentate charcter between DCPHD and dimedon.
