Meso-ionic oxazolinonc reacted with aromatic amino acids namely, o, m, and p—aminoben-zoic and gave acrylamide derivatives, some of them were converted to the corresponding benzoxa-zinone derivatives by action of acetic anhydride. With aliphatic amino acids namely glycine and glutamic acid yielded also the corresponding acrylamide derivatives, the latter was converted to a new oxazolinone derivatives via treatment with AcONa or Ac20. Behaviour of these oxazolinones toward arometic hydrocarbons has been investigated.
