The oximation of a variety of organic carbonyl compounds was efficiently carried out with NH₂OH·HCl under microwave irradiation. The reactions were performed in water or water-ethanol as green solvents to give Z-aldoxime isomers from the corresponding aldehydes and E-ketoxime isomers from the corresponding ketones in a perfect selectively with excellent yields.
