Shoeb A. Khan1, B. S. Ohri2 and Sharique A. Ali4

Abstract:

A total number of 100 subjects were studied for lipid profile and CHD status, who were referred by clinicians. The lipids analysed were total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDLC and LDLC, CHD risk was also calculated. Results indicate that out of 100 subjects studied three had 2x average risk, 48 were having average risk, whereas 49 subjects were found to have 1/2 average risk. The other groups which were having significant changes in the levels of lipids and are quite susceptible to develop CHD in future, if due precautions are not taken in time. Thus by timely evaluation of lipid profile the individuals can be advised to take precautions which in turn prevent them from CHD.
