Abstract
Halogen Scrambling in Pt (II) Substitution Reaction; A 19F and 31P NMR Study
S. J. Sabounchei and M. H. Sadre
Abstract:
19F and 31P NMR measurements show that complexes of the type [Pt Cl3-x Brx (PF3-n Brn)](x=0.12,,n=0.1)) are formed on addition of bromide to K[Pt Cl3 (PF3)] in dichloromethane solution. Statistical scrambling of chlorine/ bromine occur in these complexes at 25°C. [PtCI3 (PF3)] undergoes preferential intermolecular CI/Br exchange at sites vyhich is not trans to phosphine ligand.
