Abstract

Preparation of Complex by Non-Faradic Electrolytic Technique

S. R. Kshirsagar1 and Arvlnd M. Bhlle2

Abstract:

Investigations reported in this paper highlights the importance of suitably modifying ionic migration and diffusion m a W-cell so as to get some useful complexes. It is well known that starting form K2Cr2O7 and Na2- EDTA solutions, obtaining the Cr(lll)-EDTA is a laborious chemical process as healing of the solution and reduction of Chromium are pre-requisttes for complexation in this case. Taking advantage of the excess heat generated in W-cell due to non-faradic electrolytic process, both varieties of Cr(III)-EDTA complex, separated by a neutral zone have been obtained by mixing Na2-EDTA and K2Cr2O7 in different proportions and carrying out the electrolysis at a constant Dc voltage in W-cell.
