Abstract:
Polarographic reduction of Zinc with L-amino acids viz. L-lysine, L-ornithine, L-threonine, L-serine, L-phenylglycine, L-phenylalanine, L-glutamic acid, and L-aspartic acid and Vitamin Bt (Thia-mine) gives a well defined two electron quasireversible wave at d.m.e. at 25°C and 1.0 M (NaCI0 ) ionic strength. With increase of concentration of ligands, the reduction process switches over to more irreversible side. The relative stabilities of the ternary complexes are discussed in the light of bonding, basicity and steric hindrance of primary ligands
