Fahimuddln and Rehana Saeed
Abstract:
The viscosities of alkali metal chlorides (LICI, NaCI, KCI and CaCI) in the concentration range 1.0 x 10-2 to 3.0 x 10-2mol.dm-3 in aqueous medium have been measured at 30° to 45*C. The viscosity data was analysed by Jone-Dole equation. The Increase in the values of B-co-efficient Jone-Doie equation leads to the conclusion that alkali metal chlorides behave as structure breaker in aqueous medium. Density data was also found to fit for Roofs equation. Different thermodynamic parameters such as energy of activation (E°η), free energy change of activation (∆G*) end entropy change of activation (∆S*) were also evaluated from the viscosity data.
