Abstract:
Mixed ligand complexes of oxovandium (IV) with o-carboxyphenlazoacetlaceton as primary ligand and a monodentate base like ethylamine, diethylamine, triethylamine, pyridine or picoline as secondary ligands have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, UV-Visible, IR and NMR spectral studies reveal that the ligand exists in the hydrazone form and confirm the tridentate bonding mode through the ONO donor sequence. Thermal decomposition studies on the vanadyl mixed ligand complexes with amines show that the stabilities are in the order tertiary amine
