The Synthesis of 2 aryl/heteryl (8-chloro-6-hydroxymethyl)-3-hydroxy flavone have been carried out in the present work. These were obtained by treating 1-(2'hydroxy-3'chloro-5'hydroxy methyl phenyl)-3-aryl/heteryl-2-propen-1-ones with ethanol; H2O2 and NaOH solution. The products have been characterized on the basis of spectra data and elemental analysis.
