Abstract:

Various papers making the characteristics of cellulose have been investigated by using instruments. Bursting strength, Tearing strength, Folding endurance Duely Densometer and Opacity Tester. Characteristics could be modified by cyanoethylation up-gradation technique at lower level of degree of substitution. Literature review indicates scarcity of data on chemical upgradation technique. These technique of white wood, bagasse and Brown wood pulp through cyanoethylation was performed with acrylonitrile using 6% aqueous sodium hydroxide and maintain the degree of substitution 0.06 and changes in characteristics were presented. The extent of up-gradation was based with bagasse pulp as compared to others. Cyanoethylation of pulp was found to bring remarkable enhancement in characteristics of paper made for all type of paper. Kinetics of acetylation process using bagasse pulp, Bamboo and pad pulp were investigated and found in first order.
