Abstract:

The present investigations deal with the determination of the stability constants, electrode kinetics and mihilov's constant of HPCPT complex with metal ions, Pb2+, Cd2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+. The plots of log i/id-i Vs. Ed.e. came to be linear in Cd(II)-HPCPT system with a slope 31 ± mv indicating reversibility of the electrode process involving two electrons. In case of Cu(II)-HPCPT system the plots of log i/id-i Vs Ed.e. are linear in all cases, but the slopes 38 ± 2 mv are much higher than those required for the two electron reversible reductions. This indicated the electrode processes to be quasi-reversible. The E
