Some mixed Ligand Complexes of Alkali metal salts of dihydroxy quinones with 1,10 - phenanthroline having general formula MxL.nL’, where M = Li, Na or K; X = 1 or 2; L = 2,5-dihydroxy benzoquinone , 2- hydroxy-1,4 naphthaquinone (Lawsone), 1-hydroxy anthraquinone, 1,2-dihydroxy anthraquinone (Alizarin) and 1,4-dihydroxy anthraquinone (Quinizarin); n = 1 or 2; L’ =1, 10 = phenanthroline. The IR spectra of these complexes point to the absence of hydrogen bonding in them.
