The “C Chemical Shifts of 1-Arylethyl Acetate and 1-Arylethahol

ABSTRACT:

13C Chemical shift assignments and C-H couplings are reported for fifteen 1-arytethyi acetate and 1-arylethanol, where aryl= 2-pyridyl, 3-pyridyl, 4-pyridyl, 6-methyl-2-pyridyl, 4-methyl-2-pyridyl, 2-thienyl, 3-thienyl, 2-furyl and 3-furyl. Substituent chemical shift (SCS) effects for the ethyl acetate and ethanol groups are additive at all positions.
