Synthesis of Triazolines from Triketones

ABSTRACT:

Trials to synthesis triazolines from 1,2,3-indantrione or its hydrate were successfull in many cases. Alloxan failed to do so. 2-Diazo-1,3-indandione was the sole product of the reaction of 1,2,3- indantrione or its hydrate with p-toluene sulphonylhydrazide , while a normal derivative was obtained with alloxan.
