Biological Screening of 4,6-Diaryl, 2-Thio-1,3-Diazo (5,4-B) Benzochromans

ABSTRACT:

Several 4,6-Diaryl, 2-thio-1, 3-diazo (5, 4-b) benzochromans (II) were synthesised by condensing flavones (I) with thiourea in THF in the presence of triethyl amine. These compounds were tested for their antibacterial activity against staphylococus aureus, E.Coli and Salmonella typhi etc. The structures of these compounds were confirmed by IR, PMR and elemental analysis.
