Synthesis, Physico-Chemical, Analytical and Spectral Studies of Co (II) And Mn (II) Complexes of Phenformin

The complexes of Co (II) and Mn (II) have been synthesised with the ligand Phenformin hydrochloride and isolated in almost pure form. Physico-chemical studies and analytical data of these complexes verified the composition (C10H15N5)2M(H2O)2, for Co and Mn Complexes respectively. Structure assigned to these complexes is supported on the basis of infra-red spectral data. Complexes are ionic in nature and two water molecules participate in coordination.
