Synthesis, Magnetic and Spectral Studies of Some, New Fe(II) Complexes of β- Diketones

The complexes of Fe(II) with ligands variously substituted β-ketones have been synthesised. The stiochiometric ratio of chelates have been confirmed by chemical analysis and spectrophotometric methods. Magnetic susceptibility measurments reveals that the complexes are paramagnetic .The complexes were tested for their biological activities against S. aureus and E. coli. Most of them have exihibited moderate antimicrobial activity against gram positive and grain negative bacteria.
